The Innovation PNG Awards were launched in 2019 by Business Advantage International and the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry to celebrate and encourage innovation in PNG organisations.

The Innovation Awards have been awarded twice – in 2019 and 2023 – and will be held for a third time in 2025.

Timed to coincide with the Innovation PNG 2025 Conference (to be held at the Stanley Hotel, Port Moresby on 27 & 28 March 2025), there will be five awards categories in 2025:

1. The Innovation PNG Award for Small Business (open to businesses with less than 10 employees)
2. The Innovation PNG Award for Large Business (open to businesses with 10 employees or more)
3. The Innovation PNG Award for Digital Government (open to government agencies and departments)
4. The Innovation PNG Award for Female Innovator of the Year (open to female innovators from any sector)
5. Young Innovator of the Year (open to innovators from any sector, aged 21 years or under at the time of entry)

How to enter

Entries will be made via an online portal at www.innovationpng.com, which will go live on 13 January 2025.

Your innovation could be an invention, a piece of technology, a new way of doing things in your organisation, a new product or service, or a new business for PNG.

You’ll be asked to tell the judges about your innovation, why it was created, what results you’ve had with it, and what its potential might be. You’ll have the opportunity to upload supporting material too.

Prizes

The five winners – one for each category – will be announced at a special Gala Awards Dinner at The Stanley Hotel on 27 March 2025.

Winners will receive 2 tickets to the Gala Awards dinner, a unique crystal glass winner’s trophy, and have the chance to speak at Innovation PNG 2025 about their innovation.

Judging

The awards will be judged by an independent panel of international and local experts appointed by POMCCI and BAI. In entering the awards, all entrants will need to acknowledge that the judges’ decisions are final.
