Applications are now open for Round 3 of the Business Partnerships Platform (BPP), an initiative of Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The BPP forms part of the Australian Government’s partnership with the private sector and supports economic growth and job
creation. The BPP will match funding from businesses to invest in projects in target countries, including Papua New Guinea, that
have both a social and commercial return. Support available through BPP ranges from $100,000 to $500,000 per project. Digicel
is PNG’s previous recipient of BPP funding for the company’s solar energy solutions for off-grid households and businesses project, which picked up a 2017 Shared Value Award.
Sectors eligible for funding under BPP Round 3 include (i) Resources and Clean Energy, (ii) Agriculture, (iii) Water and Fisheries,
(iv) ICT and Financial Inclusion and (v) Education and Health. Gender equality is a cross-cutting theme that needs to be addressed
in all BPP applications. All BPP applications must also align to the five core elements of Partnership, Gender Equality, Social Impact, Commercial Viability and Value for Money. Further information about the BPP can be found in the attached brochure.
Applications for BPP funding close on 10 August 2018.
