The government announces the board of the new SME Corporation, a new General Manager at Link PNG, a new chief of staff for the PM, and two new board members at the PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum

The government has appointed Researcher, Michael Mell as the Chairman of the new SME Corporation. Desmond Yaninen is the inaugural Deputy Chairman. Other members include Robert Bradshaw, Kevin Isifu, Theresa Jaintong, Amanda Donigi. Ex-officio members are  the Secretaries for the Department of Trade Commerce, and Industry and National Planning and Implementation.

Air Niugini has announced the appointment of Bruce Alabaster as the new General Manager of its subsidiary company, Link PNG.

George Bopi has been appointed as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill. Bopi was the lead consultant and advisor for the national government’s PNG Vision 2050 and the Medium Term Development Plan. He has taught at the PNG University of Technology and worked with the Western Highlands Provincial Government managing its infrastructure and business arm.

The PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum has announced two new executives to its council. They are Kumul Petroleum’s Managing Director Wapu Sonk, and Harmony Gold’s Chief Executive Officer for South East Asia,  Johannes Van Heerden.
