Fortescue Group announces restructure to its organisation.

Several executive changes have been announced at Fortescue Group. The announcement signals a transition to a global green renewables and resources company. The changes are:

• Andrew Forrest will be appointed Executive Chairman of the Fortescue Group.
• Elizabeth Gaines will continue her service with the company as Non-Executive Director and Global Brand Ambassador.
• Mark Hutchinson, former President and CEO of General Electric, will join Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) at the end of the year in the role of CEO. Hutchinson will take over from current FFI CEO Julie Shuttleworth, who will continue in her role during the transition period and then move to a senior executive leadership role yet be announced.
• Li Yifei has been appointed as a Fortescue Board Director.
• Former CEO of AGL Energy, Andrew Vessey, has been announced as FFI’s Head of Energy Transition Projects.
• Dr Jalai Bagherli will become Co-Chair of Williams Advanced Engineering; and Mark Marnaba AM has been announced as Deputy Chairman of Fortescue.
• Christian Heyning has been welcomed as Head of Decarbonisation.
• Dr Guy Debelle will commence as Chief Financial Officer of FFI in June 2022.
• The current Director of Projects of FFI, Gordon Cowe, will take on the role of Head of Projects Development.
